Simple Travel Makeup

With the Summer heat, we all think “less is more” when it comes to hair and makeup, am I right? I haven’t put heat to my hair in about two months, and its almost ridiculous how minimal my makeup has been.  Now that my skin has a good tan to it, I love throwing on SPF tinted moisturizer, some mascara and getting out the door.  But what about when you need a little something more? And further than that, what about when you are packing for a weekend away from home and don’t want to lug around a ton of makeup? I must have been complaining about packing and unpacking for getaways (I know, rough life) every weekend, because my mom went ahead and got me the Urban Decay On The Run palette.  It has 100% taken the hassle out of packing this Summer!

What the palette includes: a bronzer, a blush, a highlighter, a lipgloss, an eyeliner pencil, a mascara, and 5 eyeshadows.  I have to admit that the bronzer is a little too warm for my usual liking, and the blush a little too pink, but I totally get why they picked these for the palette because they can work on most skin tones! I just make sure to apply the bronzer only on my forehead, cheeks and chin (which is all you really need anyway) and I apply the blush with the same brush I use for highlighter, so that its a light and natural dusting of the color.

These shadows, however, are too good.  I’m obsessed with Urban Decay eyeshadows and have pretty much every palette ever made, so I’m not surprised by this! They are the perfect smokey shadows to layer for day or night.

I only bring two of my favorite eye shadow brushes, a flat shadow brush by Sigma, and a fluffy blending brush by Morphe.

Before bronzer (which I apply with a huge Real Techniques powder brush) and blush, I just apply my favorite NYX BB cream and a Revlon concealer with a Beauty Blender for that airbrushed finish.

And don’t forget to apply a primer! This Benefit primer is my favorite for minimizing pores..I’m telling you, this stuff does that it say it does.

And even though Summer is winding down, this is still a great products to have for future vacations! One palette, a few makeup brushes = easy peasy travel makeup.

Have a great day!
