I have to admit, I’m having a harder time letting go of Summer than I usually do. In previous years come September I am all “BRING ON THE CIDER, BRING ON THE PUMPKINS, BRING ON THE SWEATERS”. This year, I’m needing a little nudge. Light jackets and walks through Central Park definitely help. And surprise, surprise – going pumpkin shopping definitely helps! I was on a mission for small white pumpkins, and my mission was a success. Before we shopped, we visited Love Lane Kitchen in Mattituck for some much needed coffee and breakfast. After a pretty much veggie-less weekend (allllll of the starchy carbs), I went for a kale and poached egg dish, while managing to snag some of Tommy’s bacon. LLK is so adorable, with such a welcoming atmosphere and plenty of that small town charm. I definitely recommend it if you’re heading out East or visiting the North Fork for the day. From Love Lane Kitchen it was on to the Glass Greenhouse, where we walked through rows and rows of fresh flowers and pumpkins. Usually we grab pies, jams, and other foods here, but on this day I had my eye on the pumpkin prize. Don’t worry, I snagged a chocolate chip cookie too.
Everytime I wear this sweater jacket, somebody compliments it. Truth is, it is quite literally a NO NAME brand. I bought it at a store in East Harlem – you know, the one that doesn’t even have signage outside but the merch in the window looks decent enough that you wander in. Well, turns out I loved this item, as well as a few others! So unfortunately I don’t have direct shopping links, but I linked a few similar items below.
Check out our little pumpkin family! Our first hint of Fall in the apartment. Baby steps 😉
Have you guys done any pumpkin shopping yet?
