Bluestone Lane

Hey there! Happy Tuesday! I’m coming from an extended weekend out of town for a bridal shower, birthday dinner and night in Atlantic City.  I actually hit three states in 24 hours (jam packed weekend, let me tell you), and saw my family, Tommy’s family, as well as a bunch of my girlfriends – quality time with these people always makes for an amazing weekend in my book! While I didn’t win any money in AC (womp, womp), we had a blast as its always great to just get away and stay in a hotel every now and then.

Anyway, on to the post.  I haven’t done an NYC cafe post in quite a while, so I figure I am due! Now, I think it is safe to say most New Yorkers know about Bluestone Lane Coffee.  Images of this spot have been flooding my Instagram feed for more than a year now; In fact, if you were following along with me when I was blogging at FGD, I first highlighted Bluestone in January of last year, as at that point I was frequenting the 5th avenue location quite a bit.  I hate to say that now that I no longer live on the Upper East Side, my visits are a little more infrequent – however I still love to grab a coffee to go before teaching a Pure Barre class! It’s a great opportunity to walk along 5th Avenue and enjoy the sights.

As mentioned, my favorite location (there are a few in NYC) is 5th Ave, because it is located directly across from Central Park.  This one is particular special because its an old church (actually there still is the church next door) with stunning architecture, and in the Spring they’ve got outdoor seating that provides the best spot to people watch.  It really is the cutest place to grab some breakfast, escape the cold and catch up with a girlfriend over freshly steamed lattes.  I would also highly recommend it to those that are visiting the city for some mid-morning eats and charming decor!

My favorite sweet breakfast for a cold Winter morning is their “Almond Milk Porridge” with blueberries, banana, cacao & coconut.  However, I am dying to try the “Dark Forest Waffle” – oh my gosh, it looks so good.

On this particular breakfast date, my friend Lindsey went for savory in the form of Portobello Mushrooms on Balthazar toast with feta and pesto. Of course, you can NEVER go wrong with avocado toast! Classic and delicious.  There’s also a new Kale breakfast bowl that looks to die for.

Have you guys been to Bluestone Lane? Do you love it as much as we do?!

Hope you have a great day!
